GEAR:
My first camera was a Nikkormat FTN with a 50mm f1.4 when I was early in high school. My next lens was a 300mm f4.5 and eventually added a 500mm f8 Mirror, and changed to a Nikon F2, then the F3. Underwater I use Nikonos V bodies and either the 20mm, 28mm. I don's care for the 15mm's distortion....in price or image. For Macro, it's the 35mm with extensions and the SB-105 strobe.
I still shoot film underwater, but at this point on the surface it is all digital. I do think that film has a place where digital simply can't touch. The "God Rays" underwater can only really be fully captured with film. I plan to add a F-100 or an f5 to my bag some day.
My film shots are Kodak E 100 professional (usually G or GX) transparencies, scanned at 2900 dpi with a Nikon Coolscan IV.
I began my digital by dabbling with a Nikon Coolpix 2100 and graduated to a D50. Recently, I have gone to a D200 and am currently relearning everything I thought I knew about cameras.
The lens bag is a 28-105 3.5-4.5D Macro, a 20mm f2.8, and a 300mm AFS f4.
I Plan to add a 17-35mm at some point and go to a 500 f4.0 P or a 600mm.
I picked up a Mamiya 6x7 and have begun to play with it.
I use Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Bridge for shuffling things around.
